Wenceslao J. Peña
HR Consultant and Senior Legal Assistant
Wenceslao J.Pena Graduating with honors and distinction, Mr. Peña earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Stanford University. He began his association with Puente Consulting, Inc. as an administrative assistant in 2002 during his summer recess while pursuing his undergraduate degree. Mr. Peña returned to Puente as an HR Consultant and Senior Legal Assistant bringing experience from the legal industry and public school districts.

Prior to his return, Mr. Peña worked as a legal assistant for a downtown San Diego business and employment
law firm where he was responsible for litigation support, and trial preparation, including the development of computer-based trial presentations. In his promoted role as the firm’s office administrator, Mr. Peña was not only responsible for the overall management of the firm including its finances, but he also directed the firm’s HR functions. He interviewed personnel candidates, maintained personnel files, managed payroll, and researched, initiated, and administered various employee benefits including 401(k) and insurance plans.

Mr. Peña’s current work at Puente involves advising clients regarding numerous HR and related business issues including best practices; reviewing, revising, and drafting employee handbooks, policies, procedures; developing HR checklists, forms, and tools; developing and customizing training presentations and interactive activities; interviewing employees; conducting wage and hour and I-9 compliance audits; and optimizing client websites with respect to the HR function. In addition, he provides support for expert witness work and investigations, including reviewing and analyzing documents and drafting reports.
